First Week

I got here on the 30th but due to the crappy internet problems my residence hall was facing, I couldn't tell you guys earlier about my first day.

It took us 10 hours to get here. Thanks to my step-father's GPS not being set, he had us going up streets in the country because it was checked that "we didnt want to go on any highways or take any U-turns!" Good thing we checked the settings out even though we were 5 hours late on that. The next day we went to my school and luckily the school had rolling boxes and elevators to make the move-in process easier. My room was much bigger than I expected! Me and my roommate is in a triple and our other roommate isnt coming to the school anymore so its only us which is really good because its so spacious now. We also have our own bathroom which is really nice as well.

My roommate is such an amazing girl. My family really likes her and they usually act funny with everyone they don't know, so I was shocked. She has this great personality where she's funny as hell and considerate. The school matched us perfectly because we get along so great. When I first arrived at the room she wasn't there because she had a game, but she left me a note telling me when to expect her to come back and etc. She had to leave the first night unfournately because it was the only time she could travel to her hometown and visit family.

When it was time for my family to leave my mother broke down crying so hard that it scared me. I was surprised because me and my mother does not get along at all, when we're home we're always at each other necks. The fact that she was so sad to say goodbye made me feel good. My little brother's six and he's like my best friend, so of course he started crying. He was strong at first and then seeing my mother cry made him give in. My sister(who's 17) started crying afterwards and before we left my grandmother was boo-hooing worst than my mom. Seeing so many emotions at once made me cry too, and it was such a mess outside. I said goodbye to them and headed back to my dorm. I went to all of the boring meetings and welcome weekend activities during the day, met the people on my floor(thank god because there's so many cute guys here!!) and later on went to the "90's party"

I meet my friend Ericka and her roommates there, along with a couple of other really cool freshmen. Ericka is really nice, after i told her my roommate was gone for the night she felt my pain and invited me to hang out in her room, thank god she lives right on my floor. I met two other girls and we knocked on everyone's door introducing ourselves and they introduced me into guys they knew already. I'm liking this place already!

"I'll be gone till November"

I'm leaving tomorrow...finally!
Today was such a busy day for me. I spent FOUR FUCKING HOURS in Motor Vehicles, just trying to get a damn state id (Clubs in NY here I come!) Afterwards I went to the nail salon to get a mani and pedi and then spent time with some of my family members. Now I'm really tired and on the verge of passing out but I cant even nap because me being lazy, havent cleared out my room yet for my little brother. He's switching with me because my room is bigger and closer to my mom. I'll get to it eventually...I dont go to sleep until 4am anyway. My sister's coming over so you better believe she's gonna help me with this. So okay, on Saturday I will start with the "Daily Freshmen Experience" telling you how move in went and if I seen any ahem (cute guys) and how my roommate is. This will continue until the end of the school year. So to all the readers out there, I thank you for stopping by my blog, it really means alot.

A family needs a grandma in it

Saturday afternoon I went over my grandmother's house, of course planning on spending the weekend with her. If you guys are like I am, your grandmother is one of the most ah-maze-ing
human beings in your life. So after catching two buses and walking a block up, I get to my Nana's and we're having a good time laughing and sharing family stories. My grandmother is funny as hell, so I was busting guts the whole time I was there. We grabbed a bite to eat and after awhile came back to her house.

We were watching the diving part of the Olympics and all of a sudden my grandmother stands up and shouts at the top of her lungs in pain. I look and her leg is swollen as hell. Now my grandmother has problems with her leg from time to time, she goes to her doctor and everything for it. But this time was the worst pain she has ever been in. I call my mother and we take her to the hospital. After only ten minutes in the waiting room, one of the nurses come and my mother goes with my Nana. I was in the the waiting room for hours without my mother giving me any news. This only made me even more worried then before "What if they have to give her surgery? What if she goes to sleep and never wake up? What if something life-threatening is the cause of it?" I prayed twice and put my ipod on to calm my nerves(BTW, was no such help).

On top of me being worried, it felt like it was literally 20 degrees in there. Now try to imagine being in that kind of condition with a tube top on...can you say Jack and Rose much? I felt as though I was slowly turning into a popsicle.

By the end of the day, all the bloodwork and x-rays came out fine(thank the lord). The doctor told us that her arthitis plus high blood pressure is the cause. My Nana stopped taking her blood pressure pills a long time ago so they gave her a prescription for that and another prescription of strong pain killer pills. I'm so relieved that my grandmother came out of there with good news. The whole fiasco with my grandmother last night opened the eyes of many of my family members. Alot of them have their own "lives" and barely call or visit my grandmother and see if she's breathing. With the hospital scare last night, all of her sons and daughters(my aunts and uncles) got out of their "asshole mentality." Family should always come first in your life, no matter what. Hopefully my so called family will check on her everyday now, not just after something like that has occured.
